The key to successful registration is careful preparation, which includes meeting with an advisor, preplanning a schedule by listing alternative sections and courses, and clearing any registration holds prior to your registration window.
For information regarding
courses, students should consult:
-the Undergraduate
Catalog: provides a general listing of courses by department with brief
descriptions of course content and objectives. This list is also available
through the Department
of History. Please note that while all of these
courses are taught on a regular basis, many are not taught each semester but
rather on a rotating annual or bi-annual cycle.
-the University Registrar: lists scheduled courses by semester and by departments.
-individual faculty webpages: usually contain descriptions of current and forthcoming courses, often accompanied by syllabi
Students register for classes during the designated pre-registration and registration periods by using ISIS. The ISIS system allows students to adjust their schedules, review holds, check fee assessment, and acquire information concerning grades.
Because of heavy demand for history courses, students often experience difficulty registering for particular courses. Students should contact the Department of History directly (392-0271) to see if seats are available in courses for which they are unable to register.
