Information about the history major is available from many sources. Students may consult the Undergraduate Catalog, the Department website, various bulletin boards around the department, and academic advisors.

Departmental advisors are available on a walk-in basis to answer questions about the major and to check students' progress toward their degrees. Every semester the Department posts the advising schedule on bulletin boards throughout the building and on the website. Please note that department advisors cannot discuss General Education and College requirements; contact to the Academic Advising Center (352-1521) if you have questions of this nature.

The Undergraduate Coordinator is available to assist with general advising as well as specific needs (e.g. approving transfer credits in history, signing change of major forms, discussing senior thesis options, etc.).

History majors and minors are strongly encouraged to read messages they receive via the majors' listserv. The Undergraduate Coordinator uses the listserv to inform majors and minors about departmental events, courses, scholarships and prizes, internships, and study abroad opportunities. Every semester the Department also sends out an announcement about the 4930 registration process.
