Graduate Orientation Handbook
Introduction
Welcome to the Graduate Program in History at the University
of Florida. This Orientation Handbook is a trimmed down version of the longer
document that the Graduate Program used to print out and distribute each
year. Now
most of the material about departmental rules and procedures
can be found on the Department’s web page (http://www.history.ufl.edu/)
and in the separate pages for the Graduate Program (http://web.history.ufl.edu/new/grad_studies.htm).
These pages include a few things that we think you should know as soon as
you start your career here. In addition to reading through these
pages you should spend some time browsing the web pages. In those
pages you will find summaries of the various academic programs within the
Department as well as a host of rules and regulations. You should
also spend a few moments looking at the various links under “Resources” and
the links under “Information for Current Graduate Students.” You
will find all sorts of useful things in both places.
