Mitchell B. Hart is associate professor of modern Jewish history. He received his Ph.D. in History from UCLA in 1994, his M.A. in Jewish History from UCLA in 1986, and his B.A. in Jewish Studies from UCLA in 1984. Before coming to the University of Florida in 2003, he taught at Florida International University in Miami. He has been a visiting professor at the University of Michigan and a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Jewish Studies in Oxford, England. His book, Social Science and the Politics of Modern Jewish Identity, was published by Stanford University in 2000. The Healthy Jew: The Symbiosis of Judaism and Modern Medicine, was published by Cambridge University Press in 2007.
